Description
A super moist zucchini cake recipe with chocolate chips and orange cream cheese frosting. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, or weeknight desserts.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¾ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
3 large eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp orange zest
2 cups grated zucchini, pressed dry
½ cup mini chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
3 oz cream cheese
¼ cup unsalted butter
1 tsp orange juice
1 tsp orange zest
1½–2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 pan.
- Whisk together dry ingredients.
- Beat eggs, sugar, oil, vanilla, and zest.
- Stir in dry ingredients, then zucchini, chips, and nuts.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat frosting ingredients and spread over cooled cake.
